Categories and Action Steps

The 12 SkillKnex Categories

Choose the right category and write an action step that fits it.

Why categories matter

Categories help learners find useful lessons and help SkillKnex apply the right context, colours, icons, filters, and safety guidance.

A category is not only a label. It tells the learner what kind of action they should expect.

How to choose one

  1. Ask what the learner will do after the lesson.
  2. Choose the category that best matches that action, not only the topic in the video.
  3. Use region or country context when the lesson depends on local rules, prices, language, healthcare, law, or culture.
  4. If the lesson could fit two categories, choose the one where the action step is strongest.

The 12 categories

Money & Finance, Career & Jobs, Business & Hustle, Tech & AI, Mind & Productivity, Health & Body, Creativity & Making, Language & Culture, Home & Life Skills, Relationships & People, Law & Your Rights, Knowledge & Curiosity

Strong action steps

A strong action step is specific, immediate, real-world, and easy for the learner to recognise as done.

Avoid vague instructions like think about it, learn more, start someday, or be better. SkillKnex actions should point to one small thing the learner can do today.
